Artist: Igneous Flame

It seems to me that you are in a constant state of refining and redefining the essence of your musical identity. How is the Igneous Flame of Oxana different than the Igneous who created Electra?

I believe there is a direct link between an artist, their work and the life they lead -- what happens in their life is reflected in their work. I now live in an environment very different to the one that I was living in when I released Oxana. This has had a significant impact on me and my work. It's been more than five years since I released Oxana. I'd like to think I've learnt many things in those five years regarding technical matters and that I have progressed musically. I strive to improve and explore new sonic territories. I don't want to repeat myself or develop a trademark "sound." For example, I've described Electra as "amorphous guitar"-- I felt I'd done enough more "regular" guitar parts on my recent albums and I wanted to work with more textural sounds. My next album will be very different.
